Leveraging the decades of plasmalogen and brain fatigue research from a prestigious Japanese institution, we have developed a revolutionary approach. Growing evidence suggests that plasmalogen deficiency causes impairments of various cellular functions, which leads to neuronal inflammation. Our lead asset is an oral small molecule compound for treating Rett syndrome. It significantly increases plasmalogen in the brain while stopping neuroinflammation, restoring mitochondrial dysfunction, inducing neurogenesis, and helping neuronal transmission and survival.
Our Story
NeuroCores is a spin-out company from a prestigious Japanese institution founded by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization.
We have developed a synthetic plasmalogen derivative (KIT-13), with the aim of treating rare pediatric neurological disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
In Rett syndrome mouse models, KIT-13 has demonstrated safety and potent efficacy, improving neuromotor function and survival time.
As of March 2023, the US FDA granted KIT-13 both the Rare Pediatric Drug Designation (RPDD) and Orphan Drug Designation (ODD), making it eligible for a Priority Review Voucher.
